There's plenty to keep the kids amused at The Herne with our great menu and play area, but we also host some great activities for pre-school kids too.

The Nature Bug - Mondays from 10am

Weekly classes lasting around 45 minutes teach your little one all about nature and the environment in an easy to follow and fun way. Expect a fun, hands on learning experience with practical and craft sections finishing up with a relevant story.

Tippee Toes - Thursdays from 10am

This class includes action songs, musical instruments, movement props, puppets, colourful laminates, parachute play and oodles of bubbles! It is an extremely lively and interactive class which makes learning fun, whilst teaching the importance of manners, patience, and socialising positively in groups and is a great early introduction into music. Whilst this class is well structured, we are very relaxed and if your little one wants to move about, they are free to do so.

Baby & Toddler Play Area
This year we've introduced a safe and fun play area for babies and toddlers situated in our conservatory each weekday from midday and throughout the afternoon. [Picture]

Garden Play Area
Our garden play area is hugely popular with all kids and forms a focus for their attention allowing parents to relax and enjoy themselves. Wear them out on the climbing frame, rope bridge, sliding pole and slide.

Over the years we've become well known as a family pub and a great venue to hold your function. And we're very proud of these achievements having worked hard to offer our customers that little bit more than the average London pub.

Something we don't often mention is our fabulous restaurant. After all, The Herne is the sister pub of the critically acclaimed The Palmerston, and with the same creative pool our restaurant offers a wonderful environment for a laid back or romantic dinner of an evening or a vibrant and bustling Sunday lunch.

You can enjoy table service and an extensive wine list, take your time and enjoy wonderful food and drink in an intimate dining space.
